Nine American soldiers killed in Iraq

American soldiers were killed on Monday, including seven who died in a vehicle accident in western Baghdad that also claimed the lives of two detainees, the US military said, APA reports quoting Associated Press. Eleven soldiers from Multinational Division-Baghdad and one detainee were also injured in the west Baghdad accident, the military said without giving further details.
A US spokesman, Lt. Col Scott Bleichwehl, said all the victims were travelling in the same vehicle.
The US statement made no mention of any hostile fire and did not specify the neighborhood.
Another US soldier was killed and two were injured when their vehicle overturned east of the capital, the military said in a statement. A soldier, who suffered wounds in fighting near Kirkuk in northern Iraq on Sunday, died on Monday, the statement said. /APA/
