62nd session of UN General Assembly starts on September 18

Heads of governments and states will make speeches from September 25.
The session has more than 160 issues to discuss. They include global peace and security, fight against terrorism, protection of human rights and environment, social and economic development etc.
The 13-week session will also discuss inter-religion and inter culture dialogue, Ruanda genocide, violation of humanitarian rights in former Yugoslavia, new cooperation for development of Africa, traffic security, prevention of international conflicts, situation in Afghanistan and Middle East, US embargo on Cuba and some other issues.
The eighth week (November 5-9) will dwell on protracted conflicts in GUAM countries and their influence on international peace, security and development and the situation in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan.
192 countries are represented in the UN General Assembly. /APA/
