Dozens of people have been killed and hundreds more injured in a powerful earthquake that has struck Peru, near the capital Lima.
The death toll from the 7.9-magnitude quake remains unclear, with reports suggesting between 25 and as many as 72 people had died in the disaster overnight. Early estimates suggest as many as 680 people have been injured.
The quake struck about 90 miles (145 km) southeast of Lima at a depth of around 25 miles (40 km). /APA/
