Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. The main provisions of UNESCO report on corruption rife in world's schools and universities, made a few years ago, have been published. State Students Admission Commission (SSAC) told APA that the report was published as a book in Russian. The International Institute for Educational Planning has developed this report basing on analysis of the situation in 60 countries.

The report says that bribery in schools and universities is seriously undermining education systems worldwide. It reveals that illegal cases during entrance exams to universities, corruption in exams, embezzlement of funds, forgery of documents and other violations in education system are widespread not only in developing countries, but also in developed countries. According to the author, corruption is particularly prevalent in the post-Soviet area.

UNESCO experts consider that Azerbaijan is only exception in dark background of CIS regarding entrance exams. They noted Azerbaijan’s experience in reducing fraud in entrance examinations to higher education institutions. “Again, this was possible thanks to a combination of measures, including the use of informatics to eliminate any possible interference in the administering, checking or publishing of exam results,” says the report.
