The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have sent a wreath to Former Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova’s funeral, APA reports.
The wreath was laid on the grave of deceased.

Former Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova has passed away, APA reports.
She passed away at the age of 87.
Note that Elmira Suleymanova was the first Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of Azerbaijan. She was born in 1937 in Baku. She studied at Azerbaijan State University in 1955–1959 and graduated with an honors diploma. She has worked at Azerbaijan National Academy of Science’s Institute of Petrochemical Processes named after academician Yusif Mammadaliyev.
By the Order of President Ilham Aliyev dated January 13, 2009, she was appointed the first Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
