Iran has criticized some European Union members for what it described as siding with U.S. and Israeli actions against Tehran, said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei in a post on the X social media platform, APA reports.
According to him, the EU and the E3 once played a key role in international diplomacy by helping to conclude the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which he described as a landmark achievement of European foreign policy.
Beghai claimed that the agreement was later undermined by the U.S. administration.
"Today, under pressure from the German Chancellor, some EU members risk being placed on the wrong side of history by appearing complicit in U.S./Israel acts of aggression & war crimes against the Iranian nation, one of the world’s oldest and the most enduring civilizational Nation-States," he said.
The Iranian diplomat urged the European Union to oppose such moves and uphold its commitments to international law and justice.
