Mortazavi said all three agents were trained in Israel and gained experience to manage guns, explosives and spy equipments. The prosecutor general said the spies were arrested before that they could realize their plans, APA reports quoting Iran’s ISNA agency.
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Jafari said on Monday that the IRGC security and intelligence forces arrested agents of an Israeli spy ring in an operation. The group aimed at collecting information on Iran’s nuclear center, IRGC’s sensitive systems and state and military leaders. Sophisticated and advanced systems of communication which belonged to Mossad were also seized during the operation.
A several days before unveiling of spy ring, 45-year-old Iranian telecommunication dealer Ali Ashtari was executed for spying for Israel. Israel denied this fact.
