US doesn’t support Russia’s proposal to impose arm deal embargo against Georgia

Washington –APA. The United States didn’t support Russia’s proposal to impose arm deal embargo against Georgia. Russian Ambassador to UN Vitaliy Churkin said he expected that US would veto the appropriate resolution he submitted to the UN Security Council, APA reports quoting Radio Liberty. Spokesman for US Representation to UN Ben Chang said that Moscow tried to distract attention of the international community from its obligation to withdraw troops from Georgia.
US Department of Defense will send special mission to Georgia in the next few days to learn needs of Georgian army. “Georgia, as a sovereign country, must have opportunity to defend itself and to prevent enemy’s new attacksâ€, said US Deputy Defense Secretary Eric Edelman.
