Today at 16.15 pm the Crisis Management Center of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations received information about a fire on a sloping field near the village of Khanabad, Yevlakh region, the Ministry of Emergency Situations told APA.
Fire brigades of the Emergencies Ministry were urgently arrived to the scene, fire was prevented from approaching high-voltage power lines (at a distance of 150-200 m). The fire was extinguished at 18.18 pm.
As a result of the fire, 79 hectares of mown fields and 1 hectare of bushes were burnt. It was possible to save from the line of fire power line, forest belt, farm and adjacent areas.
Also at 2:30 pm, information was received about the fire near the village of Bijo, Agsu district. Fire brigades of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were urgently brought to the scene. In view of the spread of the fire to a large area, fire brigades from surrounding areas were brought in, fire-fighting aircraft Be-200 ChS and Mi-17 helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were also brought to extinguish fire.
As a result of the measures taken, the fire was extinguished, the spread of the fire to high-voltage power lines was prevented. Also, the corresponding forces of the Agsu district EP and the local population were involved in extinguishing the fire.
