The presidential election was held in Azerbaijan in accordance with the European standards, Victor Ponta, member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, said at a press conference in Baku on April 12, APA reports.
“We observed with great pleasure the presidential election in Azerbaijan. We visited three polling stations. The election was held in accordance with the European standards,” he said.
In general, the election was held in democratic conditions, the Romanian MP noted.
“The polling stations we visited were well-equipped,” Ponta said, adding that an opinion on the observation of the election in Azerbaijan will be issued on behalf of the Romanian parliament.
