Effective regional cooperation is a prerequisite for stability in Afghanistan, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at the Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process 7th Ministerial Conference in Baku on Dec. 1, APA reports.

“Seven years ago we declared our commitment to support Afghanistan by uniting our efforts. The Istanbul process has deep roots. However, we can’t say that the political dialogue is at a desired level. We should promote mutual interests,” said Cavusoglu, stressing that terrorism, illegalization and illicit drug trafficking pose a threat to every country.

Turkey’s top diplomat underlined the importance of establishing regular dialogue among regional countries.

Turkey is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in priority areas, said Cavusoglu, adding. “We see Afghanistan as a country that is ready for cooperation with its neighbors. We remain committed to support Afghanistan.”
