The article on violation of vehicle maintenance regulations in Azerbaijan will be amended. Moreover, the sanctions on conversation, which can distract the driver, and the requirement of the permission of the relevant executive authority for the repair of the vehicle with damaged hull will be lifted, APA reported.

Article 342.1.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences (for participation in the conversation which distracted the driver) will be abrogated and the penalty in the amount of 250 manats for the repair of vehicles with damaged hulls without the permission of the relevant executive authority will be lifted.

It is noted in the draft that Item 2 of Article 345, which has been proposed to be abrogated, is not applied and thus proposed to be dropped.

“The improvement in recent years of the Interior Ministry’s material-technical base and electronic information systems and resources enables us to effectively detect any violation of the law. For this reason, the permission of the concerned executive authority is no longer needed for vehicles with damaged hulls to repaired,” the draft reads.

The draft will be tabled at the parliament’s plenary meeting on November 14.
