Amendments to the Code of Civil Procedure Code, the Code of Administrative Procedure, and the Law on Advocate and Advocacy have been removed from the Azerbaijani parliament’s agenda.

Speaking at the parliament’s plenary session on Oct. 20, Speaker Ogtay Asadov outlined the deficiency in preparing the draft laws as the reason.

The proposed amendments to the Civil Procedure Code, Administrative Procedure Code, and the Law on Advocate and Advocacy have to do with the issue of banning the activities of representatives.

The Chairman of the Supreme Court presented draft laws on amendments to the Civil Procedure Code and Administrative Offences Code, and the Law on Advocate and Advocacy on October 6.

The amendments propose prohibiting the participation of representatives in civil and administrative proceedings and the participation of only members of the Board of Advocates.
