Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister said on Tuesday that he has nothing to do with the punishment of Akif Ali, spokesperson for the Cabinet of Ministers, APA reported.
Earlier, Akif Ali had made offensive remarks against Azerbaijani scientist Lotfi Zadeh, who recently died in the United States. Following the incident, some press agencies reported that Akif Ali would be punished for speaking ill of the famous scientist.
“I’m not supposed to penalize Akif Ali. I don't even believe he has said that,” said Abid Sharifov.
