Baku-APA. “Azerbaijan shares and endorses the statement of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov not to worry about the initiative of the Armenian parliamentarians to discuss the recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh,” spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev told APA.
According to him, Azerbaijani side is ready for substantive negotiations on Karabakh. "Azerbaijan has repeatedly stated that is ready for substantive and productive negotiations, the outcome of which will be the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from occupation. The peaceful Azerbaijani population living in settlements along the line of contact in Karabakh is the victim of a violation of the ceasefire by the Armenian side. Creating a mechanism to prevent ceasefire violations and to investigate incidents should be a fundamental part of the process of the withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied Azerbaijani territories," said Hajiyev.
According to him, the road map to resolve the conflict is known. "The Armenian side is also well aware of the need of the withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories. There is a need the OSCE Minsk Group to push the Armenian leadership for constructive talks and peace”, said Hajiyev.
