He made the remarks March 31 during the presentation of publications on Armenia’s aggression and territorial claims against Azerbaijan.

“We have proved to the world that multiculturalism prevails in Azerbaijan,” Hasanov said, calling this a ‘good answer’ to those who consider multiculturalism and tolerance impossible.

According to Hasanov, Armenians are trying to paint a picture of themselves as victims of genocide acts, while in fact they are the ones who have committed them.

Azerbaijan seeks the recognition of the acts of genocide committed by Armenians rather than taking revenge, the top official added.

“We want the UN and other international organizations to keep such states under strict control and focus on their attitude towards neighboring countries,” Hasanov said, urging these organizations to assess Armenia’s actions, which forced one million Azerbaijanis to leave their native lands.

“Let the peoples of the world think whether it is possible to live in a neighborhood with such an aggressive country. The Armenian people are themselves are hostages of the ruling reactionary regime in Armenia. The Armenians can not dare to overthrow this regime and build a normal state. We will continue to deliver to the world community the truth about Azerbaijan with the help of our intellectuals,” the top official concluded.
