Speaking at the event, TEAS Chairman Tale Heydarov said that the society was created on the basis of London-Azerbaijan Society, which was established in the UK in his student years. Heydarov noted that over time, the company expanded its activities, covering a number of countries and a variety of directions.

Heydarov noted that the European Azerbaijan Society has been actively involved in promoting the campaign "Justice for Khojaly", initiated by the vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva: "The campaign annually organizes events in European cities. The documentary “Endless Corridor” filmed by Lithuanian and American filmmakers and won numerous international film awards, are demonstrated during these events. As part of the "Justice for Khojaly" campaign, the “Khojaly Witness of a war crime: Armenia in the Dock” book by foreign experts was published in English. The book has also been published in French, Turkish and Russian languages. "

Heydarov also noted that an exhibition of several press photographers’ works that reflect the Karabakh problem, Khojaly genocide, lifestyle of refugees and internally displaced persons was held. The Chairman noted that the Society repeatedly prepared petitions, conducted measures against propaganda campaigns against Azerbaijan. Head of TEAS said that to deliver the truths in connection with the Nagorno-Karabakh problem had always been and would remain a priority for the society.

TEAS Chairman also spoke about the activities of the society in the direction of propagation of culture, art and history of Azerbaijan giving the example of a number of projects. He noted that “Azerbaijan through the Eyes of Foreigners”, "Mugam" and others documentaries were made, popular symphonic work "Khojaly 613" by French composer Pierre Thilo was supported, and its performance was organized in European cities.

Heydarov noted the contribution of society in the organization of press tours to Azerbaijan for the close acquaintance of representatives of influential media structures with the country and the articles about Azerbaijan were published in the most prestigious magazines in the world.

TEAS Chairman noted that the Academic Centre for Azerbaijani Studies within TEAS published a collection of rare documents about the actual problems of Azerbaijani history discovered in the archives of the United Kingdom, Turkey and Russia. It was noted that the publication of scientific works of the prominent figures of the country were supported through the center.

According to T. Heydarov, more than 20 books in English, Turkish, Russian, and in other languages, dedicated to the position of Azerbaijan in the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were published and distributed to the world.

Heydarov also spoke about the educational projects of the society. He said that with the aim of developing a high school in Azerbaijan, European Azerbaijan School (EAS)has been created in 2011. School was elected as a member of the largest organizations specializing in primary and secondary education - the International Council of Schools (CIS), the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), as well as the International Baccalaureate School (IBO). The society established “TEAS Press” Publishing House in 2014. “TEAS Press” has published dozens of books on the history, literature and culture of Azerbaijan. The Training Centre for European Languages was created together with Cambridge International Examinations Centre and Oxfard University Press. The highest standards of teaching foreign languages in Azerbaijan will begin in the center in April of this year.

Heydarov noted that since 2006, more than 50 numbers of "Visions of Azerbaijan" magazine with a circulation of 250 thousand had been released. He expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the support to the activities of the society in all directions over the years, and assessing the work and awarding him with "Tereggi"(Progress) medal .

Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Ali Hasanov in his speech talked about the work done by Heydar Aliyev Foundation in order to bring the truth about Azerbaijan to the world community: "Over the past ten years, Heydar Aliyev Foundation has tirelessly promoted the culture and the history of Azerbaijan in the world. “At the same time the campaign "Justice for Khojaly", which is the initiative of Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva played a great role in bringing to the world community the truth about the Khojaly. Ali Hasanov said TEAS played active role in the promotion of the country, praising the projects realized by the society. He said that the European Azerbaijan Society created by people who are aware of the responsibility of the state and the people: "I congratulate the management and staff of the European Azerbaijan Society, as well as the magazine team “Vision of Azerbaijan” with the ten-year anniversary and wish them success in their honorable service to our country, motherland. "

A video about the society’s activity was demonstrated and publications of "TEAS PRESS" were presented at the event.

The European Azerbaijan Society was created in 2006. The Society’s offices operate in Baku, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Strasbourg and Istanbul. The head office is in London. For 10 years, TEAS has expanded as a platform, designed to strengthen the positive image of Azerbaijan in the West. It is one of the main organizations presenting on the true essence of the anti-Azerbaijani propaganda by anti-Azerbaijan circles and the successes of Azerbaijan. Bringing the truth about the Karabakh conflict to the world community and support the fair position of Azerbaijan makes the strategic line of the organization.
