The Defense Ministry’s press service told APA that the republic’s interior affairs bodies have carried out another successful operation in the fight against criminality.
Based on the information received, the Interior Ministry's Main Organized Crime Department has detained some members of a criminal group.
Thorough investigations discovered that a group of persons who were previously imprisoned under the Criminal Code’s articles on deliberate homicide, illegal trafficking of narcotics, hooliganism, etc. – Baku residents Jeyhun Bakhishov, Hajibala Abbasov, and Khirdalan resident Etibar Bakhshizadeh – have conducted “illegal investigations” by gathering would-be criminals around them. Introducing themselves as “influential figures” of the criminal world, threatening different businessmen, they have made illegal money and sent it to the “cashbox” of the criminal world.
All the three criminals were found out to have heroin on them. Furthermore, a Makarov pistol was found and seized from J. Bakhishov, and two hand grenades with lighters from E. Bakhshizadeh’s house.
Under the related articles of the Criminal Code, a criminal case has been launched against them. The investigation process is underway.
