Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh – APA. Nasimi District Court has today considered appeals submitted by an investigative agency on extension of the prison terms of Leyla Yunus, director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy, and lawyer Intigam Aliyev.
The court passed judgments to extend Leyla Yunus’s prison term to 4 months and Intigam Aliyev – to 3 months, lawyer Javad Javadov told APA.
Later on, the court rejected the lawyers’ petitions to commute the defendants’ imprisonment to home arrest.
Javadov said during the hearing, Intigam Aliyev’s health deteriorated and he was taken to the detention facility by car.
Leyla Yunus faced charges under articles #274, 178.3.2, 192.2.2, 213.2.2 320.1, 320.w and Intigam Aliyev – articles #213.1, 308.2 and 192.2.
