Azerbaijani state border serviceman injured in mine explosion in Gazakh, previous contact line territory with Armenia-UPDATED-1

The State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SBS) made a statement regarding the incident of a military serviceman being injured as a result of a mine explosion, the press service of the SBS told APA.

The military serviceman was injured in the big toe as a result of an anti-personnel landmine explosion in the direction of the Gazakh region.

Necessary medical assistance was provided.

On April 29, around 10:10 a.m., an Azerbaijani soldier, born in 2004, who was injured during a mine explosion in the area of the contact line with Armenia in Gazakh, was brought to the emergency department of the Central Hospital of Gazakh District, TABIB told APA.

"When he was brought, he was in serious condition, conscious, traumatic amputation of the paw of his left leg, arterial bleeding from the wound site, and the wound site was dirty. Currently, his treatment is being continued in the Intensive Care Unit," the information says.

The Shamkir Military Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation into the injury of the serviceman of the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan Ismayilov Vusal as a result of the mine explosion, APA reports citing the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan.

Additionally, it is reported that the incident occurred on April 29 in the territory of Gushchu Ayrim village, Gazakh region, which was not cleared of mines and through which the line of contact with Armenia used to pass.
