Relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have reached the highest political level today. This is primarily the result of the personal friendship, mutual trust, and respect established between the two countries’ leaders – President Ilham Aliyev and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kazakh political analyst Almat Toyekin said in a statement to APA.

According to him, relations between the two countries are based not on short-term interests, but on strategic vision and long-term mutual support: “Azerbaijan is a reliable strategic partner and a proven ally for us in the South Caucasus. The foundation of our relations is political will, mutual trust, and sincere friendship.”

The analyst noted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the signing of the “Treaty on Strategic Partnership and Alliance Between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan,” which has established the main legal framework for political dialogue between the two countries: “This treaty strengthens not only bilateral relations but also regional stability and the unity of the Turkic world.”

Toyekin emphasized that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan closely cooperate both bilaterally and within international organizations such as the UN, OSCE, Organization of Turkic States, OIC, CIS, and other platforms: “Astana and Baku are today two capitals that shape the direction of regional politics. Their strategic partnership is a pillar of stability not only for Central Asia and the Caucasus but for the entire Eurasian space.”

The analyst believes that the Azerbaijan–Kazakhstan axis is gradually becoming one of the strategic pillars of the Turkic world, with mutual trust being the key factor in this process.
