In the second Group E match of the day, Slovakia won against a group favorite Belgium 1-0 on Monday and climbed up to share a lead with Romania who earlier today won its match against Ukraine, APA reports citing BBN.
The only goal was scored by Ivan Schranz (pictured in white) early in the game in 7th minute, and despite Belgium's offensive and dominant ball possession for the majority of the game, the Slovakian team managed to defend well and secure a valuable win at the start of Euro 2024.
Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku scored a goal in the 88th minute that was eventually disallowed by VAR review due to his teammate Lois Openda handballing just before the goal.
