The commissioning of two solar and one wind power plants which their foundation stones were laid yesterday, will allow reduction of emissions in the atmosphere and the volume of gas used in the production of electricity, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov said during his speech at the Baku Energy Forum held as part of the Baku Energy Week, APA reports.
According to him, work is ongoing to create a green corridor that will extend from Azerbaijan to Europe, and negotiations are also being conducted regarding the involvement of Central Asian countries in this corridor.
The minister noted that Azerbaijan set a goal to expand the Southern Gas Corridor.
Perviz Shahbazov added that Azerbaijan achieved the transportation of 24.3 bcm. of natural gas through the mentioned corridors annually, of which 12 bcm. fell to Europe's share.
