Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov met with Italy's Minister of Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin in Milan. The meeting discussed a wide range of cooperation in the energy sector and within the framework of Azerbaijan's Presidency of COP29 and Italian G7 Presidency, Azerbaijan's Energy Ministry told APA.
The high level of friendship and strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Italy, as well as the development of cooperative ties were noted with satisfaction. It was emphasized that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev attaches importance to the comprehensive development of relations with Italy.
According to the Ministry, Italy being Azerbaijan's main trading partner, the fact that over 30 billion cubic meters of the 37.9 billion cubic meters of gas supplied to Europe so far have been transported to this country, and Azerbaijan ranking among the top three suppliers of gas to Italy were noted as positive aspects.
