"We have to implement projects to strengthen the green energy network, Samir Akhundov, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA)", said this during a panel discussion at the Baku Energy Forum held as part of the Baku Energy Week, APA-Economics reports.
He stated that a lot of investment is needed to maintain the stability of the network: "If we are talking about investment, expenses, and efficiency, we must ensure it. We need to implement a new tariff methodology so that we can apply these investments and avoid any missteps. We need to establish a methodology that encompasses all aspects of value chains, from value generation to energy storage. Investment must be put into the network. At the same time, before investing in the renewable energy project, we also need to invest in the existing traditional power plants, modernize them, and restore them."
