According to the Global Air Transport Outlook report of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), demand for air transport is forecasted to double by 2040 and grow at an average annual rate of 3.4%, said Digital Development and Transport Minister of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev during his speech at the World Aviation Summit held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

He noted that the sudden increase in conflicts and political instability in various regions causes instability in air traffic safety and coordination.

In addition, the industry's commitment to achieve zero emissions by 2050 creates an additional responsibility.

“Considering the significant pressures caused by these factors, CANSO members that control 90% of the world's air traffic must leverage collective expertise and collaborative efforts that are fundamental to the future of sustainable and safe global air travel,” – the Minister added.
