Armenian PM: Our relations with West will not interfere relations with Iran

“Yerevan does not develop cooperation with Brussels at the expense of relations with Tehran,” said Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan during his speech at the Parliament, APA reports.

“Our relations with this neighbor are based on natural benefits, which make the relationship special. We have not opposed relations with the West and Iran, we do not and we will not do so,” – he emphasized.

Note that earlier the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran Nasser Kanaani, commenting on Armenia, USA and EU’s Brussels meeting said that the South Caucasus should not become a venue of geopolitical competition. As he noted the importance of strengthening economic cooperation and expanding relations, emphasized that regional cooperation is important for the establishment of peace and stability in the Caucasus.
