United States National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby told reporters on Wednesday that US National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan's visit to Saudi Arabia was pushed back due to an injury, APA reports citing BBN.

"He is recovering from a cracked rib and that has affected his ability to travel," Kirby detailed, adding that the injury was caused by a "minor accident" Sullivan himself had, and was not inflicted by a third party. "It was not the result of a nefarious act," he remarked.

Sullivan was supposed to meet with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman this week.
