Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, who is on an official visit to Beijing, has met with Vice chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China, Colonel General Xu Qiliang, the Defense Ministry told APA.
Welcoming the Azerbaijani delegation, General Xu Qiliang said that the friendly relations existing between the peoples of the two countries throughout history are developing rapidly now.
The vice chairman underlined that China supports the development way chosen by the Azerbaijani people and rejoices in the successes of Azerbaijan.
Highlighting the importance of the cooperation between the two countries in all areas, including military field, General Xu Qiliang noted that there is a great potential for expansion of the relations.
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov thanked China for its support of Azerbaijan’s fair position in the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The sides discussed security issues in Southern Caucasus and Eastern Asia, as well as Azerbaijan-China cooperation and development perspectives in military, military-technical and military education fields.
