Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization has congratulated Ilham Aliyev over his victory in the April 11 presidential election in Azerbaijan.
“On behalf of the state and people of Palestine and on my own behalf, please allow me to extend my sincerest congratulations on your re-election as the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. I wish you every success in achieving the goal of ensuring your people's well-being. I re-affirm our commitment to developing ways of joint coordination and cooperation, which exists between our peoples and nations and which meets their best shared interests. I highly appreciate your stance and unwavering support on the international scene for our nation in its struggle for the establishment of an independent state by putting an end to the conflict and declaring East Jerusalem, the city of tolerance, coexistence and peace, as its capital,” Mahmoud Abbas said in his congratulatory letter.
“Your Excellency, please accept my sincere regards. I wish you the best of health, happiness, and success,” the Palestinian president said.
