Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO), Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade has given an instruction to akhunds and imams to call for voting for Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy in the presidential election during Friday sermons in all mosques this week, APA reported.
The statement made by heads of religious confessions in Azerbaijan on Feb. 14 should be conveyed to the people during Friday sermons, Pashazade said.
“Of course, we can’t force anybody to vote for someone, but our duty is to convey the truth to the people. Therefore, I ask this from akhunds and imams. Moreover, we will control the implementation of this instruction,” the CMO chairman added.
