Azerbaijan is not in favor of integration to the European Union, but supports mutually beneficial cooperation with this organization, said Samad Seyidov, chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament’s Committee on international and inter-parliamentary relations.
Seyidov is on a visit to Tbilisi to take part in an international parliamentary conference, entitled “EU and Partners - Embracing Diversity for Stronger Unity”, APA’s Georgia bureau reported.
“Azerbaijan doesn’t deny multilateral relations. We are going to sign a new agreement with the EU. However, our main priority now is to expand strategic partnership. In the future, after a thorough analysis of relations with the EU, an appropriate agreement in accordance with Azerbaijan’s interests will be signed with this organization,” said the MP.
