Accreditation of four universities approved in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan’s Education Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has signed an order approving the accreditation of four universities in the country.

With the minister’s order, the accreditation was approved of Baku State University, Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, Lankaran State University and Baku Business University, the ministry’s press service told APA.

The aforementioned universities were granted a relevant certificate of quality. Their education programs (specialties and specializations) were deemed accredited for the years 2016 to 2021 and an accreditation term of five years was determined for the universities.

On the basis of the rules of accreditation of educational institutions and criteria defining the compliance of educational institutions’ activity with requirements of educational standards, the accreditation of Baku State University, Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, Lankaran State University and Baku Business University were held in the 2015-2016 academic year. The final reviews of the accreditation commissions on results of the accreditation were discussed in the Education Ministry’s Accreditation Council and relevant decisions were adopted.
