The State Veterinary Control Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan has expressed the attitude on the report spread in a number of mass media about allegedly importing cattle and carcasses of diseased animals from Armenia to Azerbaijan through Georgia.

The service told APA, this information is absolutely groundless, does not reflect reality, does not rely on any fact, the sick cattle were not imported from Armenia to Azerbaijan.

The report says that permission to import livestock and animal products from Georgia and other countries into the country is given after the presentation of the veterinary certificate and other compliance documents issued by the veterinary services of these countries: "Permission for use is given after checking this product in the relevant laboratories. Over the past period, samples of imported products of tuberculosis and other infectious diseases have not been identified”.

The Service notes that proper control is being exercised over all imported livestock and animal products, and the epizootic situation in the republic is stable.
