Israel and Azerbaijan enjoy an excellent relationship and warm friendship, said Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The premier made the remarks during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku Dec. 13, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The Israeli PM expressed satisfaction with his second visit to Azerbaijan.
“I’m delighted to be here the second time,” Netanyahu said, adding. “Thanks to the traditions of tolerance and inclusiveness, which you managed to maintain, the Jewish people feel very comfortable here. Living in Israel, Jews from Azerbaijan also play a role of bridge between the two countries.”
The Israeli premier said he is looking forward to extensive discussions with the Azerbaijani president on the development of relations in energy, trade, technology and other areas.
