Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Anti-Torture Committee Elchin Behbudov told APA that he met with head of Department on Combating Human Trafficking at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police major-general Sharif Asadullayev on August 3. He asked human rights activist Sh.Asadullayev about his son’s arrest. The police major-general said that like everyone, his son must be brought to justice too.
“All are equal before the law. If my son is guilty, he will be punished, if not he will be released”, said the police major-general.
A quarrel occurred in Senator restaurant in Yasamal district of Baku on April 10, a man was stabbed.
Spokesman for Prosecutor General's Office Eldar Sultanov told APA that the Investigation Department of Yasamal District Police Office had launched a criminal case on the fact under articles #126.2.4 (deliberate infliction of serious bodily harm) and 221.3 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code.
Sultanov noted that Tamerlan Asadullayev was brought to justice under these charges and Yasamal District Court sentenced him to 4-month pre-trial detention.
