Romania regards Abkhazian elections as illegal

Romanian Foreign Ministry stated that separatist regimes’ unilateral acts of the Post-Soviet countries damage the status-quo of the region, Romanian Foreign Ministry told APA’s Eastern bureau. Official Bucharest stated that they share European Union’s opinion that the so-called Abkhazian elections were illegitimate from political and legal aspect. The Foreign Minister stated that any election in Abkhazia should be conformed to Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and legislation and said that he keeps on his previous position on the so-called presidential elections in Transdniestria and the elections organized by the separatist regimes in the Black Sea region are illegitimate.
“We think that such unilateral actions of separatist regimes in the Post-Soviet countries is a show of legitimacy, normality and lawfulness and this does not contribute to the solution of “frozen conflicts�./APA/
