Astana to host CIS Defense Ministers Council meeting on July 4

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan, will host the meeting of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers on July 4.

A number of issues on multi-faceted cooperation within the union will be discussed during the meeting to be chaired by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, APA reports quoting the CIS Executive Committee.

The ministers of defense will discuss the documents on the status of servicemen of the engineer troops of the CIS countries’ armed forces during humanitarian mine clearance, exchange ideas on flight safety, the assessment of radiation, chemical and biological situation, research priorities in the field of defense against air attack, joint use of spacecrafts, etc.

Moreover, the parties will review a number of issues on cooperation in the area of military education.
