Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu - APA-Economics. State Oil Company of Azerbaijan has clarified the news of some media outlets on price rise of gasoline.

SOCAR told APA-Economics that after free-of-control prices of the AI-95 and AI-98 gasoline in Azerbaijan, false reports undermining SOCAR’s business image are posted on social networks of opposition functioners and some media outlets.

SOCAR officiallt states that the government has never regulated price of AI-98 gasoline as it is not produced in Azerbaijan: “Regarding import of AI-95 gasoline from April 1 and its free-of-control prices, this was caused by repeatedly increase of high octane fuel consumption in a short-run and inadequacy of existing production capacites to that demand. This caused main plants of the Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev which produce gasoline to be under capital repair. After repair, the Refinery will not produce AI-95 gasoline”.

SOCAR states that it has not any enterprises that produce gasoline in the world: “The information that SOCAR imports gasoline from its enterprises abroad is false. ”

SOCAR also noted that after construction of Oil and Gas Processing and Petro-Chemical Complex the demand for high octane fuels in the country will be met.
