Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. Chairman of Caucasian Muslim Board (CMB) Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh commented on the situation observed in Russia over Azerbaijani citizen Orkhan Zeynalov.

Allahshukur Pashazadeh exclusively told APA that in this regard, he will meet with Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin and Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

Stating that at the meetings, he will try to slow down the tension over this incident, Pashazadeh said he doesn’t believe that these undesirable events against Azerbaijanis and non-Russian people were organized at the state level: “Simply, every state wants its laws to be observed and we are not against it. For example, if a state wants to destroy a bazaar, this is its own decision and internal matter. But everything – the destruction of the bazaar, the deportation of those who are working there and other issues should be carried out within the law. We also deport people if necessary, but everything is carried out in accordance with the legislation.”

Pashazadeh stressed that he doesn’t see any negative action by Russia against Azerbaijanis at the state level: “I have witnessed it at meetings, including the recent event in Ufa. President Vladimir Putin also attended this event and a great respect was demonstrated towards the Azerbaijani people, generally Muslims. If I had seen any discrimination, of course, I would have answered, because I’m also an Azerbaijani and Muslim.”

Touching upon Orkhan Zeynalov’s arrest, Pashazadeh said that a criminal has no nationality and religion: “If a person committed a crime and it was proved, he or she must appear before the court. But the processes to prove the crime should be carried out within the law. ”

Sheikh objected to the statement on the Azerbaijanis, generally the Caucasians issued by member of the Russian State Duma, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky: "Zhirinovsky's speech reminded me President Boris Yeltsin's attitude towards the Chechen people in the past. A Russian doctor told me a terrible fact during the rule of Yeltsin. He said they were instructed to give such injections to the Caucasian children for their next generation to be completely lost. I made a formal application against this policy of genocide at that time. Zhirinovsky's acts show that the members of that team still exist and continue their policy. However, the Russian government doesn’t need those people. They are creating confusion between states, nations, religions and no one will benefit from it. They gained property by fawning on someone. I don’t believe that they are meeting the interests of great powers. Putin's recent visit to Baku, congratulating our president firstly, meetings in Minsk and others show that there is no problem between the two countries. There are some forces inside the country that are not only against the Azerbaijanis and other nations, but also against Russia.”
