The participants of the international conference on the Tackling Islamophobia held in Baku have already arrived in the city of Shusha, APA's Karabakh bureau reports.
The guests first visited the Yukhary Govhar Agha mosque located in the central square of Shusha city.
The guests were informed about the mosque. It was reported that the interior of Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque was completely destroyed and the facade of the building was seriously damaged after the national historical and cultural monument of Shusha city came under the control of the Armenian Armed Forces in 1992. At the same time, it was noted that parts of minarets were destroyed.
In 2020, with the liberation of Shusha after the Second Karabakh War, restoration works were also started in the mosque. It was put into use in 2023 after the completion of major restoration works of the mosque.
