Expert opinion on bodies of Azerbaijanis killed in Yekaterinburg announced

"Neither of the brothers was struck with a sharp object or a firearm; they were hit with blunt instruments," said Adalat Hasanov, Director General of the Forensic Medical Examination and Anatomical Pathology Union under the Ministry of Health, while announcing the results of the re-examination of the bodies of the brothers killed in Yekaterinburg, conducted in Azerbaijan.

According to the expert opinion, numerous traumas were found during the external and internal examination of the body.

Adalat Hasanov, head director of the Forensic Medical Examination and Pathological Anatomy Association, stated that the bodies were received in their department around 10-11 PM yesterday. The examination of the bodies was completed at midnight.

"During the expertise, we found external and internal traumas on the body of Huseyn Mehdi Safarov. There is a displaced fracture of the bones, deformation of the chest. A large hematoma starting from the temple in the area around the eye, bruises on the mucous membrane of the upper and lower lips, abrasions on the right and left forehead areas, bruises on the rear surface of the chest in the right shoulder blade area, bruises on the upper limbs. Bruises in the scrotum. Bruises and abrasions on the lower limbs, on the thigh were detected."

He noted that it is difficult to conduct a second expert examination of a body that has already been examined once: "During the internal examination of the body, intracranial hemorrhages, hemorrhages in the dura and pia mater of the brain, bilateral multiple displaced fractures of the ribs along anatomical lines were detected. Cutting of the lungs by the bone ends, hemorrhages in the intercostal muscles, tearing of the parietal pleura and lungs, and bilateral hemopneumothorax were found. Additionally, peritoneal rupture and blood covering were identified.

Adalat Hasanov stated that the cause of death of Huseyn Mehdi Safarov was post-traumatic and post-hemorrhagic shock.

"Before examining the bodies, medical death certificates were presented. Death certificates issued by the Sverdlovsk region were provided. In Huseyn Mehdi Safarov’s death certificate, trauma is indicated as the cause of death.

Adalat Hasanov noted that, as a result of the expert examination carried out by Kseniya Valeryeva, it was noted that he was killed by blunt trauma: "In the opinion regarding the second brother, it was stated that he died of heart failure, acute heart failure."
