Holiday prayer is performed in Azerbaijan on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, APA reports.
The Eid prayer was performed at the "Ajdarbey" mosque at 08:00.
Eid prayer will be held at "Taz Pir" mosque at 09:00.
It should be noted that according to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated December 9, 2023 "On determining the days of Nowruz, Ramadan and Sacrifice for 2024", June 16 and 17 of this year were determined as the days of Sacrifice.
According to the letter No. 32/105 of Shamakhi Astrophysics Observatory named after Nasreddin Tusi of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated May 27, 2024, according to the appearance of the crescent moon on the horizon of Azerbaijan, the holiday of sacrifice will fall on the 10th of Zul-Hijja - June 16 according to the Gregorian calendar. According to Sharia, the sacrifice can last for 3 days starting from June 16.
There will be no work on 5 consecutive days - June 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 due to the National Liberation Day and Eid al-Adha.
