Azerbaijani journalists have arrived in the Kyrgyz capital to cover President Ilham Aliyev’s working visit to Kyrgyzstan and international events to be held in Bishkek, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Bishkek reports.
The next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member countries will be held in Bishkek on September 1 under the chairmanship of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov. A high-level meeting in the “SCO Plus” format will also take place on the same day.
During the meetings, the heads of state will exchange views on current issues on the international and regional agenda. The parties will consider priorities for the SCO’s future development, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation in political, trade and economic, transport and logistics, digital, environmental, cultural and humanitarian areas.
At the conclusion of the summit, the Bishkek Declaration dedicated to the SCO’s 25th anniversary, as well as several documents and decisions aimed at strengthening multifaceted cooperation within the organization and improving its operational mechanisms, are expected to be signed.
