The forms of creation of artificial land areas in the part of the Caspian Sea (Lake) belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan and general requirements for the creation of artificial land areas have been determined, this was reflected in the draft law "On the creation of artificial land areas in the section of the Caspian Sea (lake) belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan", APA reports.

According to the draft, an artificial plot of land can be created in the part of the Caspian Sea (lake) belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan in the land area separated from the water fund land (hereinafter, the water fund plot) separately or adjacent to the coastal strip, island, or other artificial land plot. Creating artificial land areas that pose a danger or obstacle to sea swimming is prohibited.

According to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Environmental Impact Assessment", it will not be allowed to create an artificial plot of land without an environmental impact assessment (EIA) document of the project documents and without conducting a state environmental expertise of that document.
