Undoubtedly, the potential of the Middle Corridor, along with railways, is closely related to the transshipment capacity of ports. From this point of view, the Baku International Sea Trade Port, which is one of the largest trade ports on the Caspian Sea, is an important link in the mentioned international transport corridors, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov said at the opening ceremony of the Tbilisi International Silk Road Forum, APA's Georgian bureau reports.

According to him, active work is now underway to increase the transshipment capacity of the port from 15 million tons to 25 million tons per year.

“The Georgian ports of Poti and Batumi are also important elements of the Middle Corridor. At the same time, the development of the Middle Corridor will also be facilitated by the expansion of the Kulevi port, located on the Black Sea coast of Georgia. We carry out work in the transport sector in coordination with both Georgia and other partners in the region. It is commendable that Georgia is also carrying out important work in this direction - railways are being modernized, ports are being built and expanded, and road infrastructure is being developed,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
