As a result of the operation conducted by the officers of the Shaki Region Police Department, Ilyas Dadashov, a 49-year-old resident of Astara district who was engaged in illegal drug trafficking, has been arrested, Sheki regional group of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told APA.
Two kilograms and 100 grams of heroin and 3 kilograms of marijuana were found on him.
Through investigations, it was determined that I. Dadashov was involved in a drug courier service in exchange for financial gain by the person whose identity is being investigated.
He had to deliver those 5 kilograms of narcotics, smuggled into the country, to the border area with the Russian Federation based on an order and in return, receive 1500 manats in income.
According to the court's decision, I. Dadashov was placed under arrest, and investigations are ongoing.
