"Our only goal in the South Caucasus, in the relationship between Azerbaijan and Armenia, is to ensure a lasting peace and stability," U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said as he commented Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's opinions in his article entitled “Compliance with the principles of the UN Charter in their entirety and interconnection is the key to international peace and stability," APA reports.
Miller also stressed that the goal of the U.S. is also to ensure that the humanitarian needs and rights of the people of Garabagh are protected.
Note that Lavrov said that the United States and the European Union continue to sow seeds of instability in the South Caucasus. He added that the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Garabagh is ready to contribute to the establishment of peaceful life in the South Caucasus region.
