"We also discussed our efforts on accelerating the implementation of the Black Sea submarine electric cable project," Romanian Foreign Minister Luminița Odobescu said at a joint press conference with her Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in Bucharest, APA reports.

"I stated that Romania supports the complete normalization of the relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Our position on this matter is clear: we support solving the remaining issues through continuous negotiations based on the principles of the international law.

I would also like to express Romania's interest in the negotiations in the mediating process carried out under the auspices of the President of the EU Council. The South Caucasus region is important for Romania, because this region is situated on the other coast of the Black Sea and is a neighboring region.

Peace and stability in the region are the basis of prosperity and development.

We believe that EU could play a more important and substantive role in this direction. Because it has political will and opportunities," the Foreign Minister stressed.
