"We want to assume the leader role in the region," Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Georgian Parliament said in a statement to the country's public television channel, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.
"Our efforts on helping the normalization of the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan stem from here. As for the "3+3" format, we have a very clear position here, we will not participate in this format until Russia puts an end to the invasion of the territories of Georgia and recognizes Georgia's territorial integrity. However, this does not mean that we will not develop the bilateral relations with Türkiye and wil not try to create trilateral relations format of Georgia-Armenia-Azerbaijan. Of course, it is important for us to create such an atmosphere that will promote both political and economic cooperation in the Caucasus. If a country participating in this format grossly violates our territorial integrity and invades a part of our country, then of course, there is no point in participating in that format," Samkharadze noted.
